Freelancers & founders
Client contracts, NDAs, and vendor agreements are written by the other side's lawyer. The IP assignment clause, the liability cap that isn't there, the 90-day termination notice buried in section 14 โ€” those are the terms that end up costing you.
Renters
Leases are written by landlords. The deposit deduction terms, the notice period you're actually required to give, the auto-renewal clause that locks you in for another year โ€” they're in there. Most people sign without reading them.
Subscribers & employees
SaaS contracts, employment offers, gym memberships โ€” auto-renewal traps and non-competes you didn't notice are standard practice. The fine print is long on purpose. They count on you skipping it.
